Mitchell & Bates was founded in 1995 by Walter Mitchell and Tim Bates, two attorneys who believed that a law firm that represented New Hampshire municipalities - and took no non-municipality clients - would be the best partner for local governments.

We have grown over the years to become Mitchell Municipal Group and, although Walter and Tim have long since retired, we continue to be dedicated to being the best partner for local governments. At MMG, we focus only on municipalities and municipal boards, providing a level of detail and expertise that we believe is unrivaled.
