Walter L. Mitchell, Esquire

Walter was a co-founder of our firm in 1995. Admitted to the bar in 1970 after graduating from Yale University and Boston University School of Law, he soon became a partner at the firm known as Nighswander, Martin & Mitchell where he nurtured and grew a practice serving municipalities and also served for a term as the President of the New Hampshire Bar Association. This focus on municipalities continued with the formation of our firm, providing our cities, towns and village districts not only with experienced advice designed to avoid trouble, but also expert trial advocacy when litigation does arise. Walter is also a frequent lecturer on Municipal Law topics, and a past Chairman of the Bar's Municipal & Government Law Section.

Walter has lived in Gilmanton for 28 years with his wife Carol, where they raised four children. He enjoys reading, bicycling, going to the ocean and taming the woods around his house and barn.
